Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive in Shannon

Arrive at Shannon airport and pick up your rental car/van or meet your driver/guide. Drive to Doonbeg Lodge for a 3-night stay. The luxurious 5-star lodge at Doonbeg overlooks a spectacular links course and the Atlantic Ocean. This is the perfect beginning to your Irish golf vacation.

Non-golfers have an excellent base from which to visit the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, Aran Islands and Galway.

Day 2: Play at Lahinch Golf Club

Situated on the west coast of Clare and naturally shaped by ocean and dunes, Lahinch is Ireland’s insiders favorite. Created by Old Tom Morris in 1892 and transformed by Alister Mackenzie in 1927 (the year a certain Mr. Jones invited his talents to Augusta), this links features a classic design that offers a great deal of variety, including two exceptional blind shots. Founded 1892.

Day 3: Play at Doonbeg

This extraordinary new links site features grass-covered dunes rising nearly one hundred feet above the white capped Atlantic. Taking in nearly 400 acres and stretching for 1.5 miles around a crescent-shaped beach, Doonbeg has long been described as one of the last true links sites in Ireland or Britain. The elevated par 3 on the 14th hole with an extremely deep sod-wall bunker short right, will put fear in the bravest golfer! Designed by Greg Norman.

Day 4: Play at Tralee

Drive to Aghadoe Heights for a luxurious 4-night stay in spectacular surroundings overlooking the mountains and lakes of Killarney. Tralee Golf Links is perched on a cliff overlooking the beautiful Dingle Peninsula, and is one of the most stunning links courses in the world, offering many dramatic holes that test the skills of golfers at every level. Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, Palmer has said that “God surely designed the back nine”. Founded in 1896.

Day 5: Play at Ballybunion (Old Course)

Herbert Warren Wind said it was “…nothing less than the finest seaside course I have ever seen”. One of the finest links courses in the world and in Tom Watson’s opinion; “the graveyard near the first tee gives the golfer an inclination of the sense of mystique and timelessness that is to follow”. Founded 1893.

Day 6: Play at Waterville

This stunning course was fondly dubbed the “Magnificent Monster” by Sam Snead and is located on the Ring of Kerry and buffeted by peninsular winds. One of Europe’s longest courses, Jack Mulcahy and Eddie Hackett transformed this rugged links land into an elegant championship course. Waterville is a favorite of Tiger Woods. Founded 1973.

Day 7: Play at Old Head

Known as the Pebble Beach of Ireland, in many ways Old Head is far more stunning. Set on a peninsula with its own micro-climate and ocean views from every hole, every golfer wants to play here at least once. Non-golfers will delight in the fishing village of Kinsale, Blarney Castle and Cobh Heritage Center.

Day 8: Depart Ireland

Transfer to Shannon Airport for your flight back home. Say goodbye to your driver/guide or drop off your rental van. Until the next time, Slan abhaile!
