Spain Costa Del Sol Golf Vacation
Spain's climate and long hours of sunshine provide a perfect opportunity in which
to practice the sport of golf. Each year, clubs and golf courses in Spain are visited
by an ever increasing number of golf enthusiasts and professionals. This is why
The Costa del Sol has come to be known as the Costa del Golf.
Fresh Atlantic winds, due to the proximity of the Straits of Gibraltar, mix with
the mild Mediterranean winds and help to moderate the temperatures. All these factors
contributed to the decision to hold various European PGA tournaments in Spain.
Grounds and facilities are kept in immaculate condition throughout the whole year
and are unaffected by the harsh northern continental winter.

Day 3: Golf at Almenara Golf Club
The Almenara golf course has three nine-hole loops which has beautiful views of
the Alemenara hills and is surrounded by pine trees and cork oaks. Repeatedly a
host to the Volvo Masters Golf Tournament, this incredibly well designed course
perfectly integrates two lakes as well as several streams.
|
Day 4: Golf at Valderrama Golf Club
Valderrama has been consistently listed as Europe's #1 Golf course. Simply put,
it is considered by many to be the best. Designed by Robert Trent Jones, opened
in 1975, this course is a home to the Volvo Masters and host to the 1997 Ryder Cup.
|
Day 5: Golf at Los Naranjos Golf Club
Designed by Robert Trent Jones, long terraces, trees and large undulating greens
are the unmistakable hallmarks of a Robert Trent Jones design. You will find a significant
difference between the front 9 holes which are set in broad sweeping fairways with
gentle slopes and the back 9 which are much flatter.

Day 6: Golf at the Royal Sotogrande Golf Club
Often voted amongst the top 10 courses in Europe, Sotogrande boasts well established
vegetation with pine, cork, oaks, eucalyptus, and palm trees. The 16th, 17th and
18th seem to make the course appear longer than its 5853 meters but the great consolation
is the total lack of rough on the immaculately groomed course.
